Weekend review

Well, our t-ball tourney was short and sweet. The girls had fun though so that is all that counts!! We played Friday night against the Grand Saline Drama Queens and lost 12-2 and then we played Saturday around lunch against the Diamond Divas and lost 18-5..(I think). I'm the score keeper this year which is fun. But I don't get to run around taking pictures like I could last year and I'm not sure what I'm going to do when we have a game and Tom has to work. I know Josh is not going to sit still thru and entire 50 minute long game!!!!

Today I had a meeting at work and completely forgot about it until Maribel called!!! OOPS!!!! It went on for what seemed like forever and other than possibly pushing a few people closer to quitting I don't think it accomplished anything. I already knew most of everything we covered before hand so I guess that is why I felt like it was going on FOREVER!!!

Now I'm sitting here playing on this new site that Janet turned me onto limewire, you can download songs for free. I'm figuring it's probably like napster originally was and the feds will probably end up causing issues, hopefully they don't come knocking at my front door.

That's about it!!!

Josh's new game

Okay so Josh is now 2 1/2 years old and has decided that he runs the place. Well......most days he does!! He has mastered unlocking the locks on the door and the screen door and going next door to Nana's house. This can be done in a matter of seconds!!!! He's very particular on how he makes the get away though. He waits until I'm in the bathroom, doing laundry or washing dishes and quietly makes his get away. One minute he's saying momma and asking for things the next minute poof he's gone. Sometimes if I look just fast enough I'll see him going onto mom's front porch. Most of the time I have to call to make sure that's where he went. He's good about it when he goes, he never goes far into the driveway and will only get on the edge of the driveway if the grass is wet. He can open mom's door now by himself so he no longer has to knock and wait for someone to open the door for him.

Our newest endeavor is potty training, apparently he can do it at daycare (aka school) but will not at home. There are times that he will drop his pants and sit on the potty but so far nothing has been produced. So anyone with any tips that might be reading this let me know the tricks of the trade!! Sarah was super easy when she started and was fully trained by the time she was almost 3. I'm not sure if we are going to make that mark with Josh....who knows though. I do know that he has officially boycotted diapers and will not wear anything but the lovely expensive pull ups.

Well, it's about time to get loaded up to go pick up Sarah from AWANA @ Main Street. Until next time~

So far this week.........

So far this week I have gone to work, cleaned up a little around the house, worked at the book fair at the Elementary, gone to Sarah's t-ball scrimmage against the Drama Queens. What else?? That about sums it up.
The rest of the week should be lots of fun too.
Tomorrow I get to possibly train a new server, if he called Maribel back, his name is Ryan, we have to have one guy on the floor to even out all of us girls at work! Well, we don't have to have one but it seems to make things run soother and gives Mic another guy on the payroll.
Friday night we have a game at 6pm against the Drama Queens (I think) it's the kick off game to the Mikey Furrh weekend this weekend.
Then we have games throughout the day on Saturday starting as early as 8:30/9am depending on if we win/lose on Friday night.
Wish us luck!!

Random pictures of the kids

Here are some random pictures I recently put on the computer. Some are a few months ago some are more recent.
Always stopping for the camera
Waiting patiently for Sarah's program to start.
So proud of himself for getting his shirt on all by himself.
(Notice it's inside out!!)

He couldn't decide on sleep or ice cream....in the end sleep won! Being my big helper at First Monday!!

Our T-Ball team name

It's been a while since I've blogged, apparently I'm not so good at it. Or is it that I just always forget about it. Either way, I'm doing it again!!!

Our team name this season is Sweet Peas and our colors are Neon Green and Black. Our shirts will be the Neon Green with Sweet Peas on the front and the girls' numbers on the back. Sarah is once again #7 because that was Tom's dads' number back when he played ball. Our shorts are black and we plan to have knee socks but I don't know what color they are. The girls should be pretty cute!!! Most of the girls have Hot Pink Helmets and most have black cleats with pink on them. Sarah has the same helmet as she did last year and of course since it is a darker pink than the other girls she is trying to get a new one like everyone's else.

We are anxiously awaiting our season schedules. All I know at this time is that we have a tournament the last weekend in April its the Mickey Furrh tournament.

Well that's about it on T-ball. What else???

34th Annual Salt Festival

Okay so this year I finally decided I needed to become more active in the community. Heck I'm 30 years old and what have I accomplished other than being a wife and mother?? Nothing much that I can list. So, I volunteered to help sell ads for the paper that is put out for the Salt Festival, not sure what the "correct" name of this newpaper thing is called though. Monday was my first day to try to sell ads and what do you know......all of the places in town that I wanted to hit except for 2 was closed!!! Yeppers!! Apparently nothing is open here on Monday!! So my plan for this coming week is to do it on a Tuesday!

This year is going to be done a bit differently than the 2 years before. There will be vendors in town on Friday AND Saturday, although more are expected on Saturday than Friday. Friday will be the Rodeo Associate Parade and Saturday morning will be the Salt Festival Parade, why two different days?? Heck if I know??? I wondered the same thing but didn't really hear why.

Here's the line up so far:

Wednesday Night

Thursday Night
Whiskey Fish - 9pm (ish) - Admission $5

Friday Night

Kelly Moore Band takes the stage I think around 8/9pm

Special cups are going to be sold for the street dance and possibly for special drink prices around town..........check back for more details!!!!

2008 Summer t-ball news

Last night I got the call! We are preparing for our 2nd summer of t-ball. As of right now we do not have a name but should shortly. Sarah is super excited because she and the only remaining Sassy Girl from last season get to play again together this summer!! I however might be more excited than she is!! Her coach is Mrs. Jada (Violet) Fisher and some of the members of the team include 2 other Sarah's and the daughter of Mrs. Brandi (Autry) Rumsfield. Along with a whole list of other kiddos, I'm not sure how many total there are! Anyway, Jada, Brandi & I played t-ball together YEARS ago as the Lil' Fillies. We are going to practice on Mondays and Thursdays I think is what Jada said and will be starting the first part of April!! Can't wait!!!!!
