I guess 40 is enough for now. It's almost 2am, Tom is still not home. I'm getting sleepy so I think I'm going to call it a night!!

Until later today (since it is already Wednesday!!) night!

Nicknames

Okay, the kids nicknames............
Sarah is my mom's only granddaughter, she has 4 grandsons. She was nicknamed Scooter by mom when she was little. Tom started calling her Lilbit or Hotrod and the Hotrod named seemed to stick with him. Once she got a little older I started calling her Princess, b/c well, she's my little Princess. Josh came along and was deemed JW, immediately, then little man and lately I find myself calling him Paco Dominguez (sp???) I have NO idea why and I try to NOT call him that in public b/c we do have a lot of hispanic people in my area and don't want anyone thinking bad of me, so I try to just call him JW, or BOOGER. Booger is what I normally called him when he was itty bitty, or boog for short (even nicknames need nicknames right???) So there you have it. Hotrod/Princess and JW/Booger will now be the names I will try to refer to the kiddos as in future posts. I'm sure I will fail miserably but I will try.

Nothing much

Okay it's 12:45am, Wednesday morning, Tom is working until either 1am or 3am. Held over again like last night. He's on the 3pm-11pm shift this week, which isn't that bad since Sarah is out of school and I'm back to SAHM status. Before it was a nightmare b/c he would leave for work before Sarah came home from school and I got off of work and we would leave for school, daycare and work sometimes before he was fully awake (well, the daycare/work part he is always still sleeping during this shift when Sarah leaves for school). It's all part of life at the Salt Mine, which 20 years from now might be better.

Other updates: We ended up getting 100% of our earnest money back from the other realtor. Apparently the people who had the "other offer" in on MY Country House really wanted to move on it so atleast we aren't out anything on that now. I officially have my own ride!! We went a week ago yesterday (July 7th) to Irving in afternoon rush hour traffic to Westway Ford (I know if you've heard/seen a Westway Ford commercial you're signing the song right now, if not go check out their website (westwayford.com) and check out the last 6-7 seconds of the 3 video about the tax rebate checks (bah, bah, westway fooord) and you will have it burned into your memory!!) ........Anyway, I ended up with a 2005 Ford Windstar SEL (very important letters) she's dark grey with grey leather seats (I've never had a vehicle w/leather and I've had about 20+ cars/trucks in ummm 15 years (gosh I'm getting OLD!!))it's got sliding doors on both sides and a Rear Entertainment Package!!!! The kids have to turn on a DVD every and I mean EVERY time we get in the van!! I can run to Brookshires to get dinner and one MUST go in!! I do love my van though!! She drives really good, has a great radio and the a/c will freeze you out once she get's the inside cooled down. The only bad things so far I have found is:
Can't get the cruise control to set
The replacement keyless entry fob is going to cost me $45
A duplicate key is going to cost me $65 for 1 or about $85 for 2!! Wow!!! right??? Apparently there is a sensor in this little darling that makes is worth it's weight in gold......well maybe aluminum. Anyway, if you only have 1 key, you get to pay out the booty for a 2nd BUT!!!! if you already have 2 and just WANT a 3rd key (never had a 2nd spare key to a car before either but I will have soon) it will only cost about $20 to have it cut b/c they don't have to program it for you, I can "DO IT MYSELF" since I will have 2 other keys that apparently train the 3rd key.

WOW!!!! I wish I would have known this BEFORE signing papers and leaving the dealership on the 7th!! Someone would have been getting me a 2nd key before we agreed to this deal!! Seriously!! Live and learn right???

I have lots of pictures that I need to get on the computer so I can put some here and on my myspace just incase I have people that regularly check them. In my "dream world" I think that people that I used to work with might check up on the growth of the kiddos. But in reality I know most people are like WHO?? I know on my myspace there are people on my friends list from school, relatives, and of course my sisters!

Most of tonight I have been reading the bulletin boards on Babycenter.com, apparently the Old BBC, the bargin hunter board. Don't let the bargin hunter name fool you, sometimes there are bargins to be found other times, it's just random things. Everyone is currently concerned b/c the NEW BBC has opened and the Old BBC will be closing soon. Anyway, there was a bulletin about blogs and everyone listed theirs so I jumped on the bandwagon and put mine there to so -
HI BBC BHB MOMMIES!!!
After looking thru alot of the other blogs I have planned updates to this one.
  • I'm definately going to work on the background and jazz it up a bit.
  • I'm going to use the kids nicknames more, because that is just cute!! Sarah is lovingly known as Hotrod or Princess, or the newest Drama Momma. Joshua is normally either called JW, JR, Booger, or my Uncle Darren calls him Squirrel. I personally normally call him Paco Dominquez ........why I do not know. Back on track more on the nicknames later>>>>>
  • I'm going to do the x# of random things about me. I'm not thinking I'll do the 100 but maybe 20. We'll see how it goes.
  • I've added a thing on the left of the screen that shows who visits and where they are from, when the come to my page and when they leave. It is NOT accurate on location though b/c it shows I'm visiting from Lindale, Tx which in reality is about 30ish minutes away from me, however, it could be the location of some sort of relay thing for our cable??
  • There should also be a little sign showing where you are visiting, if not keep watching it'll be there asap!
  • Maybe a counter to show the # of peeps that check me out! Hopefully some comments will be the results of these visits.
  • Maybe a Goal of things list...

The house...

Okay, it's been a week, and 1 day since we got the horrible news. The news that I had not been wanting to get. We didn't get the house after all. I was SOOOO horribly mad!! I mean I could have screamed, but instead, I cried!! After all of the playing phone tag, pages and pages of paperwork changing the mortgage from 15 years to 30 years ended up messing everything up in the end. Apparently, to go 30 years you have to have LOTS and LOTS of payment history, like actual check stubs, not online payment proof, or a print out from a company showing payments made, apparently those are too easily altered. You actually have to have check copies of canceled checks!!

So, we withdrew our offer and let the realtor go with the pending contract that was submitted after ours. We have our fingers crossed that if it was truely meant to be ours then maybe something will cause this other contract to fall thru and give us another chance, maybe at a lesser price.

The good news, we might beable to get 1/2 our earnest money back!

So right now it's just a waiting game both for the company doing the financing company to decide we've given them enough payment history to complete THIS loan request before we can start another one with them. Or we decide to find another finance company (ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS????) B/c the lender we are working with says we shouldn't look for another house until we get this all worked out!!

Okay enough with the vent!

The House

So our closing date is slowing approaching and it seems like I have literally had to provide a whole ream of paper worth of information for us, bank accounts, check stubs, copies of check payments all of that good stuff. The my realtor calls me today at work and says I need to call the lender b/c there is something missing from our paperwork needed to finish the loan papers. I'm thinking GREAT! What now?? DNA, Fingerprints??? Ended up being nothing major. However my realtor also gave me the great news that should something hold us up past the closing date set in the contract of the 30th the buyers agent is not extending our contract b/c they have got another contract for the property @ more than ours is for!!! I am none to happy about this!! At this point we have been out $250.00 for a title search thing and if the contract falls through that's $250 down the drain for information on property that would never be ours!!!
UGH!!! I feel like a stalker calling or emailing our lender daily to see if there is any progress but I am starting to stress out!! Including today there is 12 days TWELVE DAYS left until we MUST close!! Less than 2 weeks!!! I have all of our utilities in place and have only the homeowners insurance to get lined up (which I'm hoping to have taken care of in the next couple of days!) Oh, and the small matter of the refrigerator needed (b/c the house isn't coming with one ~ but we have a plan in place to get one!

Not to worry though, I know if it was meant to be it will be, and if not then maybe this wasn't the home we are meant to move to, to raise the kids in and to grow old in. If something happens and it falls through then we will start looking again, or just stay here in our little bitty house for a while longer. But gosh I hope and pray everything works out and we get everything taken care of in time!!

Keep us in your thoughts that we get this!!

Lots of love! ~ The Roach's

Last game of the season

Tonight was our final game of the season, we played the Fruitvale Sandlot Stars. And we beat them 11-8!! Sarah and Megan are the only two returning players from last year, well the only two on the team that have played ball on a team before, most of all of the girls had been working on the basics at home prior to the season starting. The season started out slow for us, lots of losing games and the girls going home sad because we didn't win. We played the opening tournament for the summer, the Mikie Furrh Memoria weekend tournament and ended up with a participation medal. The turning point for us was the Fruitvale tournament where we ended up with........2nd place I believe it was (I would have to go and look at the trophy to make sure :p ). From then on the girls started having more confidence and our games got to were we were ending the game with the scores being closer!! I am so proud of this group of girls, the Sweet Peas will definitely be a group of girls to watch next year in T-Ball as I think only Sarah & Megan are moving up to Coach Pitch. That's another story all together, Coach Pitch, we are not sure if Sarah is going to like the idea of having someone throw a ball at her to hit so we will be working on it between the end of this season and the start of next season.

The final season tournament is this weekend in the Desert.....aka Edgewood! We play "sometime" Friday around 6pm or later, edgewoodbaseball.net is supposed to show when we play but I'm not seeing it so I guess I'll wait for Jada to call me :(

Updates on us!

Gosh, I didn't realize it had been such a long time since I had posted anything!! Bad Bad ME!!!
Let's see, I'll start with the most current stuff and work my way backwards to see how far we get!!
As of right now we are set to close on our house by the 30th of this month!! We were informed today that we would need to have all of the utilities arranged to be turned on by the time of closing or they would most likely delay the closing! I'm kinda upset b/c we aren't going to be able to keep DSL at our new address, we must go back to dial up!!!! I keep telling myself it's not that big of a deal, but we'll see!!

Sarah had a game tonight and we played hooky, it was against one of the Van teams and I know this is going to sound HORRIBLE, but with or without her there they would probably turn out the same way. (My luck they probably kicked rear and won tonight!!)

I've decided that I want a new job. I'm one of the only few remaining original crew left at the restaurant and over the last few weeks/month tops it has got to where it's not fun anymore. It lost it's fun before our original "General Manager" got fired and the new manager is super nice, I'm just not feeling the desire to go to work each day anymore! SOOOOOO if you know of anyone hiring, shoot me a message!! I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE something to do from home!!!

Tonight I watched a webcast of my cousin Tommy Joe Wilson (myspace.com/tommyjoewilson) he's opening the end of this month for the Stone Temple Pilots @ Nokia Theatre & various places and Billy Ray Cyrus @ the Sam Houston Race Park. Plus his CD should be out sometime this summer!! Isn't that cool??

Okay, yesterday backing up thru Monday ~ Worked 11-5, then home for a while, took Tom dinner b/c he's on a lovely shift from 3pm until 1am right now & this coming week! We hate this shift!!! Feed the kids and off to bed.

Sunday ~ Forgot about a meeting at work, resulting in being wrote up on Monday b/c I didn't come in. I was lucky to be awake and functioning Sunday, we didn't get home from the street dance until about 3am (we were a food vendor, not dancing! LOL)

Saturday ~ We went to the Salt Festival, took home 2 - 1st place ribbons in the Turtle Race, Sarah dunked Rodney w/ the help of Justin Collins. I got a super cool sign for $10 made of barn wood and barbed wire. (I'll get some pictures posted soon). Sarah went home with Christie around lunch and Josh with Nana leaving me to help my father-in-law with the concession trailer until about 3pm when Tom stopped by to pick me up to rescue mom and to get cleaned up for that night.

Friday ~ Worked, t-ball game in Van, hung out w/ Tom and James (father-in-law) with the kids listening to the Kelly Miller Band.

Thursday - Worked, t-ball game.......home??
Wednesday ~ I know I worked, other than that??? Who knows
Prior to Wednesday ~ ??????
